KAUFMAN COUNTY - Total voter turnout for Kaufman County reached 5.68%, several incumbents won re-election, open seats saw tough competition, and voters approved the Kaufman ISD Bond.
In Forney, James Traylor won his City Council Place 1 bid with 77.56% of the vote, and Jay Weatherford won Place 3 with 58.46%. The Forney School Board saw Dr. Idemudia win Place 3 with 71.98% of the vote, and Hanna Doan Bateman won Place 4 with 75.30%.
Scurry-Rosser ISD saw Bobby Bridges and Nancy Duggan as the top two vote receivers, Bridges at 113 votes and Duggan at 112 votes.
Mabank ISD’s Proposition A passed 76.90% of the vote, and Kaufman ISD’s Proposition A passed 62.38%.
In Mabank, a vote for 3 on the City Council saw John Chappel receive 274 votes, Tyson Adams receive 269 votes, and Derek Harril receive 206 votes. In Terrell, Donna Anderson received 88.46% of the votes for Terrell City Council District 2.
The next election in Kaufman County will be the Primary Run-Off election on May 28th.
