FORNEY, Texas — Construction on Lovers Lane repavement project began earlier this morning, according to the City of Forney.
During a December 2015 Forney City Council meeting, Public Works Director Chris Metz stated crews will recondition the sub-grade to 24 inches in accordance with Texas Department of Transportation standards and will condition a little further with a lime stabilization. A new rock base will be applied and two courses of two-inch hot mix asphalt.
The construction will be conducted in four phases beginning on the south side of Lovers Lane, according to the City of Forney.
The phases will be from the north service road of U.S. Highway 80 to Skyline Estates, Skyline Estates to Bowie Street, Bowie Street to Estate Lane, and Estate Lane to Farm-to-Market (FM) 740.
Construction was initially expected to last six months.
