FORNEY, Texas — More than 3,000 Oncor customers are without power in Forney on Thursday afternoon.
inForney.com readers report outages in the area of Farm-to-Market (FM) 1641 and Helms Trail, downtown Forney, areas of south Forney including Trails of Chestnut Meadows and McKellar Home Place, and in the Windmill Farms neighborhood.
Oncor reports 3,193 customers are affected by the outage. The estimated restoration time is 5 p.m., according to Oncor.
A majority of the customers whose power was restored around 5 p.m. also reported a brief outage at approximately 5:25 p.m. Oncor reports the remaining outages will likely be restored by 7 or 7:30 p.m., depending on your location.
The outage may be related to a switch malfunction at an area substation.
The Forney Fire Department was also dispatched to a fire below a transformer on the north service road of U.S. Highway 80 just east of County Road 212.
