FORNEY, Texas — A mother and child were killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash early Saturday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Texas Department of Public Safety Staff Sergent Kyle Bradford tells the crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Farm-to-Market (FM) 2757.

A silver BMW X5 was traveling southbound on FM 2757 when, for yet to be determined reasons, left the roadway, entered the shoulder, and overturned several times.

The child, who was unrestrained, was ejected from the vehicle, airlifted to Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and later pronounced deceased, according to Bradford.

The mother was airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas where, she too, was pronounced deceased.

At the time of press, the Texas Department of Public Safety had not released their identification information.
