Just before 2 p.m., the Forney Fire Department was dispatched to the 10000 block of County Road 202, formerly known as Quail Run, in between South Bois D’Arc and Markout Central.
Approximately five to six acres burned, according to Forney Fire Department Assistant Chief Phillip Pyle.
Firefighters gained access to the fire at 10519 Quail Run and through the Southern Cross Ranch.
Mutual aid responded from Terrell, Seagoville, and Sunnyvale.
The Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire which initially was reported as an out-of-control controlled burn.
