FORNEY, Texas — Firefighters from four area fire departments sprung into action on Monday afternoon to tackle several roadside grass fires along Interstate 20 just south of Forney.
FORNEY, Texas — Firefighters from four area fire departments sprung into action on Monday afternoon to tackle several roadside grass fires along Interstate 20 just south of Forney.
At approximately 1:14 p.m., the Forney Fire Department and Mesquite Fire Department responded to eastbound Interstate 20 between Farm-to-Market (FM) 740 and FM 741 for several grass fires along the highway.
The initial grass fire was located on the eastbound Interstate 20 onramp at FM 740.
The Crandall Fire Department responded for mutual aid and the Kaufman Fire Department responded mutual aid in Crandall for a station standby.
The fires were extinguished at approximately 2 p.m.
