FORNEY, Texas — Several area fire departments are fighting a structure fire in the Forney area on Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported just after 5:30 p.m. on Homestead Lane, just off of Helms Trail, in the Forney area.
First responding units reported heavy smoke and fire from the structure and mutual aid was requested from neighboring fire departments in Crandall, Terrell, and Mesquite.
At least one person has reportedly suffered smoke-inhalation related injuries.
Atmos and TVEC have been requested to the scene for gas and power shutoffs, respectively.
