ELMO, Texas — Multiple fire departments and two forest service dozer crews responded to and extinguished an approximate 25-acre grass fire.
The Elmo Fire Department was dispatched Thursday afternoon to an unknown-type fire on County Road (CR) 308, near Ham Orchards. There, firefighters reported fire in the trees and requested mutual aide from Terrell, College Mound, Ables Springs, and the Texas Forest Service.
The Texas Forest Service responded with two dozer crews.
The fire burned approximately 25.19 acres, according to the Elmo Fire Department which stated the fire was 100% contained as of 4:30 p.m.
The Kaufman County Fire Marshal's Office also responded.
