Narcotics search warrant yields arrest and seizure of drugs, cash, and gun

TERRELL, Texas — The execution of a narcotics search warrant on August 18, 2016, by the Terrell Police Department Narcotics Unit and SWAT team yielded an arrest and seizure of drugs, cash, and a gun.

TERRELL, Texas — The execution of a narcotics search warrant on August 18, 2016, by the Terrell Police Department Narcotics Unit and SWAT team yielded an arrest and seizure of drugs, cash, and a gun.

The warrant was executed at approximately 11:53 p.m. on August 18, 2016, at a residence at 107 Oak Drive in Terrell, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.

Upon entry of the home, officers located two females, one who was arrested and identified as 35-year-old Maria Louisa Ruggiero.

Officers located and seized a clear plastic baggie continuing suspected methamphetamine lying on a bed, multiple other baggies commonly used to package illegal narcotics, scales with drug residue, and various glass pipe smoking devices scattered throughout one bedroom, and a Lorcin .380 handgun in one of the bedrooms, according to Sansom.

Additionally, officers located a pill bottle containing hydrocodone, alprazolam, and clonazapm from a vehicle registered to Ruggiero which was parked in front of the residence.

Ruggiero also reported to police officers that she had methamphetamine inside her bra which was retrieved by a female officer and weighed approximately 2.2 grams.

“Ruggiero was in possession of $3,240.28 in U.S. Currency and investigators believe this has been used in connection with and is proceeds of illegal narcotics transactions and was lawfully seized,” stated Sansom.

In total, the methamphetamine which was seized weighed 83.3 grams.

Ruggiero was arrested and charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams, three counts for possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 3 less than 28 grams, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
