KAUFMAN, Texas — The National Weather Service and the Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management have partnered to bring a free SKYWARN storm spotters class to Kaufman County on February 15, 2017.
KAUFMAN, Texas — The National Weather Service and the Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management have partnered to bring a free SKYWARN storm spotters class to Kaufman County on February 15, 2017.
The class will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at the Kaufman Fire Department from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. No pre-registration is required.
“This class is for organized storm spotters and anyone with an interest in severe weather,” stated the Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management. “This is part of a regional severe weather preparedness campaign, which will include spotter training sessions across 46 counties in North and Central Texas.”
The class will prepare individuals on spotting severe and hazardous weather conditions and instruct spotters on how to efficiently and properly report those sightings to the National Weather Service and other local authorities.
