TERRELL, Texas — Two new Terrell Police Department recruits, who finished top of their class, were sworn in after taking their oaths of office.
TERRELL, Texas — Two new Terrell Police Department recruits, who finished top of their class, were sworn in after taking their oaths of office.
In a badge-pinning ceremony, Terrell Police Department Captain K.G. McKeown pinned the badges on two new police officers — Tiffany Lyons and Joe Keen.
Both Lyons and Keen graduated with high honors from the East Texas Police Academy in Kilgore, Texas, on Friday, July 22, 2016, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.
“We are extremely proud of these two officers and their accomplishments. We look forward to many years of serving together in our agency,” stated Sansom.
Lyons was certified as the class valedictorian of the Basic Police Officer Course graduating class No. 298. Keen also graduated with top-three honors. Lyons and Keen also passed their T.C.O.L.E state peace officer licensing exam in the nineteenth percentile on Tuesday, July 26, 2016.
The two will now undergo a vigorous field training program with their new patrol shifts beginning today, stated Sansom.
