FORNEY, Texas — No injuries were reported after a truck overturned into a restaurant patio on Wednesday night near the Dallas-Kaufman County line.
The restaurant was closed at the time of the crash just before 11:30 p.m., however, restaurant employees were still on site.
A pickup truck was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 80 when it reportedly took the Lawson Road exit and overturned into the Shorty’s BBQ patio in front of the restaurant — a magnet for driver’s exiting the highway, police said citing similar wrecks in the past.
Shorty’s BBQ is located in Dallas County just feet from the Kaufman County line which its parking lot borders.
Police say none of the vehicle’s occupants were injured.
Firefighters from the Forney Fire Department and Sunnyvale Fire Department were disregarded on scene as well as CareFlite and Sunnyvale EMS.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
