FORNEY, Texas — No injuries were reported in a Thursday afternoon school bus-involved crash on Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 in Forney.
The crash was reported at 4:11 p.m. on FM 548 at Highgate Road near the Devonshire neighborhood.
A bus was stopped on southbound FM 548 waiting for a vehicle which was turning on Highgate Road when it was rear-ended by another vehicle, according to the Kaufman County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office.
The bus was fully loaded with students at the time of the crash and the vehicle was occupied by four North Forney High School students, according to Forney Independent School District Spokesperson Larry Coker. None of the bus occupants or vehicle occupants were injured.
The students on the bus either transferred to another bus to complete its route or were picked up by their parents at the scene of the crash.
The student driver in the vehicle was cited for drivers’ license restrictions, according to the Kaufman County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office, for having more than one non-family member in the vehicle.
