TERRELL, Texas — A nude woman was taken into custody after a police chase from Ellis County ended in Terrell on Tuesday night.

The Ellis County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about a disturbance on Tuesday night around 10 p.m.

A woman fled the scene of the disturbance in a silver SUV and was discovered by deputies traveling on a nearby roadway. The woman failed to stop for deputies and a pursuit ensued.

The chase traveled north on State Highway (SH) 34 into Kaufman County where a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper successfully deployed spike strips — deflating two tires on the vehicle.

The chase came to an end at SH 34 just south of Interstate 20 in Terrell. There, the woman, who was nude, was taken into custody without further incident.

The woman was not arrested for a criminal offense but, instead, taken into custody and transported to a hospital for a mental health evaluation, Ellis County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Joe Fitzgerald tells inForney.com.
