HEARTLAND, Texas — One person was airlifted from a major collision on Farm-to-Market (FM) 741 on Friday afternoon.

Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Trooper Kyle Bradford says a pickup truck was pulling a trailer northbound on FM 741 when a tire blew out, causing the truck and trailer to fish-tail into the southbound lane where the trailer struck a southbound SUV.

The driver of the SUV became entrapped and was extricated by firefighters.

Three people in the truck were uninjured, according to Bradford. A passenger in the SUV was also uninjured.

Bradford says the driver of the SUV, who was entrapped, was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

FM 741 was closed while emergency personnel were on scene and has since been reopened.

The Crandall Police Department, Crandall Fire Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, and CareFlite are on scene.

This is a developing story.
