FORNEY, Texas — The driver of a Jeep was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital after a collision with a truck tractor on Wednesday night.
FORNEY, Texas — The driver of a Jeep was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital after a collision with a truck tractor on Wednesday night.
At approximately 7:25 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the crash in the 9500 block of Helms Trail, across from the City of Talty Police Department and City Hall.
The crash forced the closure of Helms Trail which has since reopened.
A Jeep traveling on Helms Trail struck the side of a truck tractor, which was not hauling a trailer at the time of the crash, which was turning in to a business off of Helms Trail.
The driver of the Jeep was transported by CareFlite medical helicopter to Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, with what were described as serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Firefighters from the Forney Fire Department established a landing zone in a field in between the Helms Trail business center and the neighboring Shell gas station.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
No other injuries were reported.
The Precinct 2 Constable’s Office and Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash.
