One airlifted from motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 80 near Terrell

TERRELL, Texas —U.S. Highway 80 at Metro Drive, just west of the Terrell city limits, has reopened following a motorcycle crash which forced its closure on Friday afternoon.

TERRELL, Texas —U.S. Highway 80 at Metro Drive, just west of the Terrell city limits, has reopened following a motorcycle crash which forced its closure on Friday afternoon.

The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the crash at approximately 5:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 80 near the intersection of Metro Drive.

Both eastbound and westbound U.S. Highway 80 were closed while a CareFlite helicopter landed on the highway. The highway has since been reopened.

The motorcyclist was flown by CareFlite helicopter to Methodist Dallas Medical Center in unknown condition. No other injuries were reported.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the cause of the crash.
