KEMP, Texas — One person has been airlifted following a major crash in Kemp on Friday night.
The crash, reportedly involving two vehicles, was reported at approximately 9:30 p.m. on State Highway (SH) 274 near Kings Creek and forced the closure of the roadway.
Emergency personnel extricated one individual who was later flown by CareFlite helicopter to a Dallas-area hospital in unknown condition. Another person was reportedly transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital.
The roadway was reopened at approximately 10:57 p.m.
The Kemp Volunteer Fire Department, CareFlite, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
