TERRELL, Texas — One person was airlifted from a single-vehicle crash on Colquitt Road just northwest of Terrell on Thursday night.
The crash was reported just before 9 p.m. in the 6800 block of Colquitt Road, in between County Road (CR) 234 and CR 236.
A vehicle was traveling eastbound on Colquitt Road when it veered off the south shoulder of the road and into a thicket of trees.
Police say speed was likely a contributing factor in the crash.
A female passenger in the vehicle was taken by CareFlite medical helicopter to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, with what were described as non-life threatening injuries. The driver was uninjured.
The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene of the crash. Colquitt Road was temporarily closed in both directions due to the crash and helicopter landing zone.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
