TERRELL, Texas — One person was airlifted from a two-vehicle crash on State Highway (SH) 34 north of Terrell, Texas, on Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, CareFlite, and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to SH 34 north of Terrell near County Road 322A for a two-vehicle crash in which one vehicle overturned.
A vehicle traveling southbound on SH 34 was reportedly attempting to pass another vehicle when the two vehicles made contact causing the passing vehicle to lose control and overturn several times before coming to a rest in the southbound ditch. The vehicle traveled approximately 500 feet from the point of impact to its final resting position.
The man was airlifted by CareFlite helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas, with serious injuries.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
SH 34 has reopened in the area.
