TERRELL, Texas — One person was flown to a Dallas-area hospital and five others were transported by ambulance after a two-vehicle crash in Terrell on Saturday night.

TERRELL, Texas — One person was flown to a Dallas-area hospital and five others were transported by ambulance after a two-vehicle crash in Terrell on Saturday night.

At approximately 6:33 p.m, the Terrell Police Department, Terrell Fire Department, and CareFlite were dispatched to the crash at U.S. Highway 80, also known as West Moore Avenue, and Farm-to-Market (FM) 148.

One vehicle reportedly experienced mechanical failure while traveling on U.S. Highway 80 causing it to cross a median and strike another vehicle on FM 148 that was awaiting the traffic signal.

The impact forced one vehicle onto the railroad tracks — prompting notification of Union Pacific to stop train traffic.

One person was flown by CareFlite medical helicopter to a Dallas-area hospital in unknown condition. Five others were taken by ground ambulance to various local hospitals in unknown conditions.
