One injured, extricated in rollover crash off Interstate 20 bridge

ELMO, Texas — One person was injured Saturday morning in a rollover crash on westbound Interstate 20, according to fire officials.

The crash occurred on westbound Interstate 20 between the Hiram Road exit and Farm-to-Market (FM) 429, near mile marker 508.

A woman was traveling westbound on the highway when she reportedly struck a guardrail, overturned several times, and went off a bridge. The vehicle came to a rest on its roof.

Firefighters with the Elmo Volunteer Fire Department extricated the woman who was later transported to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, by CareFlite ground ambulance.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
