FORNEY, Texas — One person was injured Thursday night following a head-on collision on the south service road of U.S. Highway 80 in Forney.
The crash was reported at approximately 8:34 p.m. on the south service road of U.S. Highway 80 at the highway onramp just east of the Farm-to-Market (FM) 460 overpass.
Two vehicles collided head-on where the eastbound traffic intersects with the westbound traffic on the service road to merge onto the onramp for eastbound U.S. Highway 80.
A CareFlite medical helicopter was inbound to the crash and disregarded just prior to its arrival and the injured person was instead taken by CareFlite ground ambulance to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, in unknown condition.
The south service road was temporarily closed while emergency personnel were on scene.
The Forney Fire Department, Forney Police Department, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety also responded to the crash.
