FORNEY, Texas — One person was injured in a near head-on collision on Farm-To-Market (FM) 548 on Friday evening.
The crash was reported at approximately 5:30 p.m. on FM 548 just north of Windmill Farms Boulevard.
A passenger vehicle traveling southbound appeared to have crossed the center line of the highway and struck the wheel well of a trailer being hauled by a truck traveling northbound, as indicated by rim gouges in the roadway in the northbound lane. The two vehicles narrowly avoided a head-on collision.
One person was transported by CareFlite ambulance to Lake Pointe Medical Center in Forney, Texas.
There are currently alternating lanes of traffic in the area. Expect minor delays.
Wreckers have been requested for both vehicles.
The Forney Fire Department, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety also responded to the crash.
