TERRELL, Texas — A pedestrian was struck by a truck hauling a trailer on Interstate 20 in Terrell on Sunday night and airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on westbound Interstate 20 near mile marker 501.
According to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom, a 22-year-old male exited a vehicle to retrieve a pair of sunglasses that had fallen out of the vehicle when he was struck by a GMC pickup truck which was hauling a trailer.
The pedestrian was flown by CareFlite medical helicopter to Parkland Memorial Hospital.
The pedestrian's sustained what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, according to Sansom.
