TOOL, Texas — UPDATE [Mar. 4] — Police have identified a man who was discovered deceased in Cedar Creek Lake last week.
The man was identified by police as 30-year-old Michael Wayne Dickson, of Tool.
An autopsy was conducted today at American Forensics in Dallas. Preliminary findings are consistent with drowning and there were no signs of trauma to Dickson's body, according to Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse.
ORIGINAL [Mar. 1] — Police are investigating the discovery of a man's body in Cedar Creek Lake on Friday afternoon.
The body, according to Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse, was discovered near a dock in the area of Sampan Drive and Cherokee Trace in the Tool-area of Henderson County.
Deputies were able to quickly locate the body which was recovered from the lake and sent to American Forensics in Dallas, Texas, for an autopsy.
No additional details were available as of Friday night.
The Tool Police Department, Tool Fire Department, Henderson County Sheriff's Office, and Texas Game Wardens responded to the scene.
