FORNEY, Texas — A police pursuit of a motorcycle ended in a crash on Farm-to-Market (FM) 1641 on Thursday morning — resulting in the closure of the road.
At approximately 8 a.m. on Thursday, a Forney Police Department police officer was attempting a traffic stop on a motorcycle without a license plate on the south service road of U.S. Highway 80 near Regal Road.
The motorcycle fled from the police officer, through the parking lots of several businesses in the area of the south service road, Broad Street, and FM 548. The motorcycle continued east on the south service road, south on FM 548, and south on FM 1641.
The motorcycle crashed at FM 1641 just east of Monitor Boulevard near North Profit Row after police say he crossed the center median and struck a northbound traveling vehicle driven by a 49-year-old female.
FM 1641 was closed and a CareFlite medical helicopter to dispatched to the scene.
The motorcyclists was flown to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, in serious condition.
Another individual in a passenger vehicle was also transported to an area hospital.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash and doing a crash scene reconstruction which will likely leave FM 1641 closed for at least another two hours.
Traffic is being diverted onto Monitor Boulevard on the north end of the crash scene and Gateway Boulevard on the south side of the crash scene.
