FORNEY, Texas — Beginning May 9, portions of Reeder Road will be closed daily for road repairs.
Reeder Road between Gateway Boulevard and County Road 217 will be closed beginning tomorrow, May 9, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for asphalt road repairs. The closures are expected to continue Monday and Tuesday of next week.
This particular portion of the roadway was reopened after spot repairs were made in March 2017 — nearly three-and-a-half-years after its closure due to its deteriorated condition.
The City of Forney proposes building a large community park west of the southern leg of Reeder Road which is also the site of the proposed Splash Kingdom water park. The city council recently saw drawings of the proposed park, as well as a proposed extension of Ridge Crest Road, at their city council meeting last week.
