KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Scattered storms are expected to move across parts of the area overnight tonight into Saturday morning. The greatest severe potential will be for large hail with an initial wave of storms. However, strong to severe storms are possible across much of the area.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Scattered storms are expected to move across parts of the area overnight tonight into Saturday morning. The greatest severe potential will be for large hail with an initial wave of storms. However, strong to severe storms are possible across much of the area.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, a threat for strong winds may also accompany storms, especially around daybreak or later for locales mainly east of I-35. Storms will end from west to east later Saturday morning.

Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after midnight are forecasted overnight with a low around 63. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

On Saturday there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9am. Some of the storms could be severe. Mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 77. South southwest wind 10 to 20 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Saturday Night is expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 49. Light and variable wind becoming northeast 5 to 10 mph after midnight.
