TERRELL, Texas — A community is in mourning after the passing of Southwestern Christian College's Queen Mother and First Lady, Patricia Evans, who died earlier this week at the age of 77.
"Sis. Evans has and forever will be an integral part of the Southwestern story, having served as our First Lady and Queen Mother for over 50 years," stated Southwestern Christian College President and CEO Dr. E. D. Seamster, Jr. "She worked alongside her beloved husband, Jack, to make Southwestern a home to every student that entered Bowser Circle."
"Her love and work for her alma mater extended to the classroom (Literature and French), the stage (countless solos and musical performances) and the gymnasium (as the Rams #1 fan), among other numerous acts of kindness and dedication to Southwestern," he said.
"Sis. Evans, your living was not in vain. Your impact will be felt on our campus and in our hearts for generations to come. Take your rest," stated Seamster.
A Day of Reflections and Honors will be held during a public viewing at the GKF Auditorium at Southwestern Christian College on Friday, April 12, 2019, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. A Celebration of Life and viewing will also be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at noon.
