FORNEY, Texas — A portion of Reeder Lane will be closed Saturday morning due to a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Forney Fire Department’s new Station 2.

The Station 2 ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. immediately following a 9:30 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony for the completion of Gateway Boulevard on the Gateway Bridge. Those attending the earlier ribbon cutting ceremony on Gateway Boulevard will travel north on Gateway Boulevard, turn right on Reeder Road through the roundabout, and left on Reeder Lane where parking will be available on the street near the fire station.

Those not attending the Gateway Boulevard ribbon cutting who are attending the fire station ribbon cutting are asked to take Gateway Boulevard from FM 548, around the roundabout to Reeder Road north, and left onto Reeder Lane.

“There will also be a very limited amount of handicapped parking at the fire station, so we encourage those who will need handicapped parking to not attend the first ribbon cutting and go directly to the fire station,” the City of Forney stated in an advisory.
