FORNEY, Texas — A region-wide 911 outage is affecting Kaufman County dispatch centers and officials are asking residents to use alternate phone numbers.
The outage is affecting dispatch centers throughout the North Central Texas Council of Governments service area and, in Kaufman County, includes the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, which dispatches for several area communities, Forney, and Terrell dispatch centers.
Residents in Kaufman County are asked to contact (469) 376-4500, residents in Forney should call (972) 564-7600, and residents in Terrell should contact (469) 474-2700.
An official tells inForney.com the outages were caused by a network failure which is causing "bouncing" on the regional system.
No time has been given on full restoration.
