KAUFMAN, Texas — Five owlets rescued in April after being dumped near Kaufman’s City Lake Park were returned to nature earlier today.
The owlets were discovered in a box on April 12 and eventually landed in the care of the Blackland Prairie Raptor Rehabilitation Center. The barn owls were released in Kaufman earlier today.
“Today we were thrilled to be a part of an awesome event,” stated the Kaufman Police Department which rescued the owlets after they were discovered by a park goer. “Everyone remembers the baby owls that were found in a box awhile back here in Kaufman, well the great people at the Blackland Prairie Raptor Rehabilitation Center cared for and raised the little guys and today they were released back into the wild right here in Kaufman!”
