FORNEY, Texas — Reverend Monsignor Glenn “Duffy” Gardner of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church passed away yesterday, May 3, 2016.

FORNEY, Texas — Reverend Monsignor Glenn “Duffy” Gardner of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church passed away yesterday, May 3, 2016.

“Monsignor suffered breathing difficulties earlier today and was admitted to Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman where he later died,” according to the Diocese of Dallas.

Gardner had celebrated his 46th ordination anniversary on Monday — having originally been ordained on May 2, 1970.

“Msgr. Duffy was such a loyal and faithful servant of the diocese for many years, including serving as Vicar General and in the Tribunal,” stated Bishop Kevin Farrell, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Dallas.

“Msgr. Duffy will be remembered not only as a good & holy priest, but for his quick-witted sense of humor and quick wit,” stated Farrell. “He will be missed.”

“Eternal rest grant Msgr. Duffy, O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him,” stated Farrell. “May he rest in peace.”
