KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Temperatures were in the triple digits as area fire departments fought a vehicle fire turned structure fire on Sunday in the Scurry area.
The Kaufman, Kemp, Rosser, and Crandall Fire Departments responded to Scurry on mutual aid for the fire which consumed an outside garage, travel trailer, vehicles, and eventually spread to a residential structure.
The occupants of the house escaped injury, according to Kaufman Fire Department Chief Ronnie Davis.
