CRANDALL, Texas — Several people escaped injuries in a multi-vehicle crash in Crandall which forced the closure of westbound U.S. Highway 175 overnight.
Just before 11 p.m., the Crandall Police Department and Crandall Fire Department responded to westbound U.S. Highway 175 at Farm-to-Market (FM) 741 for a reported multi-vehicle crash.
Police say an unknown vehicle swerved into a woman’s lane causing her to take evasive measures. That vehicle did not stop and continued westbound on U.S. Highway 175.
The woman who was cut-off swerved off the right shoulder of the highway, veered back onto the highway, and struck the side of a utility truck before coming to a stop in the middle of the highway.
Moments later, police say the woman and her child exited the vehicle before it was struck by a fourth vehicle.
Ultimately, no major injuries were reported which would have required transportation to a hospital.
