KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kaufman County until 1:15 a.m.
The warning also includes portions of southeastern Rockwall County and southwestern Hunt County.
“At 12:17 a.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Terrell, moving southwest at 35 mph,” stated the NWS.
65 mile per hour wind gusts are possible with this thunderstorm.
Locations impacted include Terrell, Seagoville, Forney, Kaufman, Heath, Crandall, Combine, Talty, Grays Prairie, Cottonwood, McLendon-Chisholm, Oak Grove, Post Oak Bend City, Rosser, Oak Ridge and Lawrence.
This includes Interstate 20 between mile markers 486 and 511.
“For your protection get inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows,” stated the NWS.
