KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A line of storms moving across north Texas is expected to sweep over Kaufman County between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas.

The NWS issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kaufman County until 3:45 a.m. The warning includes Rockwall County, northeastern Ellis County, and eastern Dallas County.

At 2:45 a.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from new Mesquite to near Ferris to near Alma, moving east at 50 mph, according to the NWS.

Hazards include 70 mile per hour wind gusts.

Area residents should expect considerable tree damage and damage to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings is likely, according to the NWS.
