KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kaufman County on Monday.
The warning was issued at 11:34 a.m. and will remain in effect until 12:30 p.m.
Hail and high winds are possible with a pair of severe thunderstorms entering Kaufman County from Ellis County.
The storms have a history of producing large hail with reports of quarter-sized hail.
People and animals should seek shelter indoors to avoid injury due to hail.
A National Weather Service Hazardous Weather Outlook warns of chances of thunderstorms across most of North Texas today with large hail being the main threat.
“Thunderstorm chances will continue Tuesday and Tuesday night across most of North Texas with highest chances east of the I-35 corridor,” stated the NWS. “There is a threat for severe thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon with large hail and damaging winds being the main threat.”
