KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Kaufman County until 1 a.m. on Monday.
Severe thunderstorms are tracking across north and central Texas at about 35 miles per hour with main hazards of large hail, damaging wind gusts, tornadoes, and urban and flash flooding, according to the NWS.
Counties north of Kaufman County are also under a Tornado Watch.
Just after 11 p.m., the NWS continued the watch, which was set to previously expire at 11 p.m. on Sunday, for Kaufman County until 1 a.m. on Monday.
“A few thunderstorms may linger Monday morning along and east of a line from Paris to Athens to Cameron,” stated the NWS. “Severe weather is not expected.”
