TERRELL, Texas — Overhead sign construction will prompt the closure of Spur 557 on Friday night, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
Westbound Spur 557 will be closed from Interstate 20 to U.S. Highway 80 beginning 9 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018, until 5 a.m. on Saturday. Additionally, the westbound entrance ramp to I-20 at Rosehill Road and the westbound entrance ramps to Spur 557 at FM 148 and at Los Lomas Road (CR 305) will be closed.
The closures are necessary to allow TxDOT crews to install an overhead roadway sign.
"Motorists are urged to be mindful of workers in the construction zone. Backups are possible and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes," stated a TxDOT notice.
