KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Significant Weather Advisory and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kaufman County overnight.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Significant Weather Advisory and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kaufman County overnight.
Just before midnight, the NWS issued the advisory until 12:45 a.m. on Thursday for a line of strong thunderstorms entering the county from the west which was moving east at 45 miles per hour.
At 12:37 a.m., the NWS issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for eastern Kaufman County until 1:30 a.m.
Wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour, frequent cloud to ground lightning, and penny-sized hail is expected with these storms.
“Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle,” stated the NWS.
Hail was reported near Red Oak in Ellis County, according to the NWS.
