KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Significant Weather Advisory for Kaufman County on Monday morning.
The advisory includes portions of northern Kaufman County, Rockwall County, and southern Hunt County.
“At 7:39 a.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Heath, or near Forney, moving southeast at 25 miles per hour, stated the NWS.
Dime size hail and winds in excess of 40 milers per hour are possible with this storm. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is also occurring.
The storm may also lead to localized flooding due to heavy rainfall.
Locations impacted include Rowlett, Rockwall, Terrell, Forney, Kaufman, Royse City, Crandall, West Tawakoni, and surrounding locations.
