KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Significant Weather Advisory for northwestern Kaufman County until 10:15 p.m.
The advisory also includes Rockwall County and southeastern Dallas County.
At 9:46 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Rockwall to near Hutchins which was moving east at 10 miles per hour, according to the NWS.
Dime size hail and wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour are possible.
Torrential rainfall, which may lead to localized flooding, and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning are also occurring with these storms.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways and seek shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Locations impacted include Dallas, Garland, Mesquite, Rowlett, Rockwall, Balch Springs, Terrell, Seagoville, Forney, Royse City, Heath, Fate, Sunnyvale, Wilmer, Crandall, Combine, Talty, Mobile City, McLendon-Chisholm and Post Oak Bend City.
