FORNEY, Texas – Residents across Kaufman county received mailers and robocalls this weekend that provided the wrong information for weekend polling locations.

Conservatives in Action, a political advocacy group of the Kaufman County GOP Club paid for the mailer. The brochure says that the Kaufman County Annex location is the only polling location open for voting today and tomorrow.

All early voting locations - Forney, Terrell and Kemp sub courthouses and the Kaufman County annex building - are open for voting on Saturday from 7 AM to 7PM. All of the polling locations are open on Sunday, from 1PM – 6PM.

“This particular group has previously endorsed multiple candidates over the years who have been forced from office due to various criminal actions. One was even thrown out of office, became a murderer, and sits on death row today. Their track record for picking winners who are good stewards of the people's trust is the envy of no reputable group I count as supporters,” Lance Gooden, the current state representative for Kaufman County and a candidate for congress.

“It's no shock they are hoping for low turnout and hoping to hoodwink the voters yet again. I have faith in the good people of Kaufman County to get to the polls and see through these outrageous tactics.”

The Kaufman County GOP Club did not return our request for comment.

Early voting continues through March 2.
