FORNEY, Texas — A student suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle while in a crosswalk on Thursday morning, according to police.

FORNEY, Texas — A student suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle while in a crosswalk on Thursday morning, according to police.

The crash occurred around 7:26 a.m. at the intersection of Travis Ranch Boulevard and San Antonio Drive, Texas Department of Public Safety Staff Sergeant Kyle Bradford told inForney.com.

“The driver of a Ford Explorer was attempting to make a right turn onto San Antonio Dr. and struck the child in the cross walk,” stated Bradford.

Bradford says the driver was cited for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The child was taken to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, with what were described as minor injuries, specifically, scratches to the face.
