TERRELL - The City of Terrell has started summer road maintenance with five miles of work to be completed in the city's most extensive summer “pay-as-you-go” improvement project.
The City says residents can expect to see culvert, ditch, and curb work in July. Then, in August, milling down and repaving of asphalt streets will commence and, if necessary, continue into September and October.
The plan is to start the maintenance work in a systematic manner, beginning with the city's southeast area, then moving to the southwest, northwest, and concluding in the northeast portion. The streets receiving work are clearly marked on the 2024 Summer Street Map, helping residents know what areas will be affected.
As for residents impacted by the street repair, the City says that the contractors will notify residents by going door-to-door seven days in advance of the work beginning. Cars will need to be moved off the streets during construction.
