TERRELL—The Terrell Christmas Parade has been canceled out of respect for Officer Jacob Candanoza, the Terrell Police Department, and First Responders.
“The cancellation of this beloved event was not a decision made lightly. We believe this pause is necessary to give our community the time and space to heal together. We look forward to resuming this cherished tradition in 2025,” stated the Terrell Chamber of Commerce on Facebook.
The Chamber also referenced the recent passing of K9 Officer Max, whose loss has further impacted the community this week.
On December 11, 2024, the Terrell Police Headquarters will hold a candlelight vigil at 6 p.m. to remember Officer Jacob Candanoza, who leaves behind a wife and young daughter.
The Texas Department of Public Safety has updated the record for the alleged shooter, Darrian Cortez Johnson, who will remain in custody without bond.
