TERRELL, TEXAS — A Terrell man was fatally struck on Interstate 20 early Sunday morning, the Terrell Police Department, which is investigating the crash, reported.

TERRELL, TEXAS — A Terrell man was fatally struck on Interstate 20 early Sunday morning, the Terrell Police Department, which is investigating the crash, reported.

On Sunday March 17, 2024, around 12:41 a.m., the Terrell Police Department received two calls from motorists driving westbound on Interstate 20 concerning a subject standing in the roadway.

"Officers were dispatched to the area to attempt to locate the subject," stated the Terrell Police Department. "While headed to the area, a third caller called to report that they had struck a person who was out in the roadway."

Responding police and fire units reported the deceased, identified as 24-year-old Otavius Demond Rose, had suffered apparent major injuries related to the collision with the vehicle.

Justice of the Peace Rhitt Jackson was called to the scene and pronounced Rose deceased. Rose's body was transported to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

The driver of the vehicle which struck Rose was identified as a 42-year-old male of Livingston, Texas.
