TERRELL, Texas — A Terrell, Texas, man was critically injured and airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital where he later died following a motorcycle crash on State Highway (SH) 34 on Friday morning.

The crash was reported at approximately 6:40 a.m. on SH 34 at its intersection with North Frances Street, also known as old SH 34.

A motorcyclist was traveling southbound on SH 34 when a Ford F250 pulled off of Frances Street in front of the motorcycle, according to Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Staff Sergeant Kyle Bradford.

"The [motorcycle] didn't have time to take evasive action and struck the truck," he said.

The motorcyclist, identified by police as 38-year-old John D Anglin of Terrell, Texas, was airlifted to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where he later died of injuries sustained in the crash.

Bradford says the driver of the pickup truck possibly faces charges for failing to yield to the right of way.

The Terrell Fire Department, Terrell Police Department, CareFlite, and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene.

This is a developing story.
